I have developped a bunch of automated scanners for the entomology service at Gembloux Agro-Biotech. Various prototypes have been built to test this idea in real-world conditions. This ongoing project aims to refine these scanners to enhance their precision and efficiency in observing and documenting insects, ultimately contributing to more detailed and reliable entomological research.

These iterations finally led to a simple XY table mounted with a good camera equipped with an adequate focusing ability.
This first scanner allows to scan insects that are in collection boxes in 3 dimensions X, Y and Z (focus).
I am also developing image analysis routines and programs to allow insects recognition and features extraction from the databases we are currently building.
